What personal information does the Company collect about you?
The Company usually only collects basic personal data (including name, postal address, telephone number and email address) about individuals who are (or are employed by) our stakeholders and suppliers.
We collect this data through a variety of ways, including:
directly from the individuals themselves when they request to be included either verbally, or via our website;
from desk-based research into stakeholders with an interest in topics relevant to the Company’s aims of investing into improving low-paid work;
via recommendations from other stakeholders.
The Company may process other data, including special categories of data (e.g. information about ethnic origin, sexual orientation and/or religion or belief) as part of recruitment campaigns or as part of our investment process. We will, however, always be very clear with you about our wish to collect such data and our reason for doing so, and we will only do so with your specific consent.
Why does the Company process personal data?
When you express an interest in our work by requesting to be added to our mailing list to receive our emails or event invitations, we use your email address to contact you about events, publications, and other news relating to our work.
We also contact professionals who have asked to be kept informed about our work, or those who have a specific interest in an area of impact investment in which we specialise.
What is our legal basis for the processing?
We process this data on the basis of both our legitimate interest, with due regard for the interests of the data subject. We only contact individuals who have asked to be kept informed or professionals who have a specific interest in the area of work in question, who would reasonably expect us to use their email and / or postal address in this way.
Where we have a contractual relationship with you, we may process your personal information as necessary for the performance of that contract or prior to entering into it.
Where we are making an investment into a company, we may process your personal information as necessary to enter into an investment contract and to comply with financial regulation.
What do we do with your data?
All the personal data that we process is handled by our employees who are based in the UK. All our employees are subject to an obligation of confidentiality and are aware of our data protection policies.
We do not carry out any automated decision making and we do not transfer data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
We may share data with the Resolution Foundation as part of a shared services agreement with them where they provide services including IT support and accounting help. We may share data with Kin Fund Services as AIFM for the Workertech Fund, where this is necessary for them to perform their role as Fund Manager and Fund Administrator. We do not share data with any other organisation but we do use Mailchimp, a third-party provider to deliver our emails and Eventbrite, a third-party provider to manage our event guest list.
When you request that we add your details to our mailing list in order to receive event invitations and our newsletter email (or both), MailChimp.com and/or Eventbrite, will receive your contact details to allow us to fulfil this request.
We use Mailchimp to gather statistics about the number of emails opened and clicks made using industry standard technologies. This helps us monitor and improve our mailings. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice.
We use Eventbrite to register attendees for our events. Attendee lists including names, emails, and places of work are then both stored on Eventbrite and also transferred over to MailChimp to our mailing list. For more information, please see Eventbrite’s privacy policy.
You can also unsubscribe to event invitations and newsletter mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing: hello@resolutionventures.org.
How does the Company protect data?
The Company takes the security of your data seriously. It has internal policies and controls in place to ensure that your data is not lost, accidentally destroyed, misused or disclosed, and is not accessed except by our employees or service providers (Resolution Foundation, Kin Fund Services, MailChimp and Eventbrite), subject to an obligation of confidentiality and in the proper performance of their duties.

The Company will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

CCTV
Resolution Service Management Ltd, the company that owns 2 Queen Anne’s Gate where our office is located and where we hold most of our events, uses CCTV cameras for security purposes. There are four cameras in the following locations: one outside the building on the left hand side of the front door, one in the ground floor reception area, and two overlooking the garden at the rear of the building. Access to footage is limited to security staff only.
